The purpose of the GED testing program is to provide many adults who did not complete a high school program, an opportunity to earn a high school credential. This activity will provide these individuals with opportunities to obtain jobs,pursue higher education, and achieve personal goals. Our program will enables students to complete their secondary education at a pace that allows for their individual circumstances. We will teach courses in language arts-writing; language arts-reading, social studies, science, and mathematics. Graduates of this program are offered scholarship services after matriculation completion as well as passing all GED testing for post-secondary training or college. The program also provides a Career Guidance Counseling and support throughout the tenure of the program.

 

Students who enroll into Ocie Lewis Support program will complete all required admissions documents. Students will participate in an interview with members/ staff of Ocie Lewis Support and will be assigned a success Coaching Counselor, Students will participate in general testing to identify the area of needs with respect to their skill development, which will determine the matriculation of the student with the specific goals of course graduation, obtaining a GED, Career Counseling , and pursing further education, trade or skill.

All Students will be paired with a success Coaching Counselor, Each Counselor will assist in the development of the student's goals while matriculating through the program as well as Coaching and Counseling with identified community needs as well as future career development. Students will have a required coaching session at the minimum of three (3) times throughout the matriculation of the program.

Program Scheduling The program will operate on a 6-week cycle. This will allow students to fully access and utilize the computer lab and on-on-one tutors. This allows proper assessment and reflection of subject matter.

 

Program Requirements:

1) Must be age 16 years and over

2) Completion of Registration Requirements-Application , Assessment Test and Interview

3) Attend Success Academy Career Counseling

4) Valid State Picture ID/ Driver License, Passport, Military ID

5) ** For participants 16 and 17 years of age a valid withdrawn form from the last school attended

6) ** For participants 16 and 17 years of age permission from parents or legal guardian is required
